2008 CM Pros US Spring Summit Call for Proposals:
Dynamic Delivery Across Multiple Media Channels

CM Pros is soliciting presentations that address the theme and empower the attendees with tangible and practical real world content management knowledge. Submit a proposal to present or lead a discussion that will provide attendees with strategic and tactical solutions for this unique aspect of content management. This conference is for anyone struggling with the business drivers and technical issues of managing and delivering dynamic content.
We seek business and technical presentations that focus on "How To ...", "Lessons Learned", or "Case Studies", and address any of the following topic areas as they relate to the theme and to content management in general:
- Social Networking
One of the fastest growing trends on the internet has many companies wondering how they can benefit from social phenomenon. This topic will address what attendees need to know or consider when implementing a social networking project. Business track presentations could cover subjects such as calculating ROI for a business case, legal issues, workflow, and many more. Technical track presentations could cover subjects such as the selection of a social networking platform, integration with an existing CMS, or an analysis of the technical infrastructure required to support social networking.
- Web 2.0
A very nebulous and often over used term, yet many companies feel they must embrace it in order to remain competitive. This topic will address what it means to ‘go’ Web 2.0, and how to maximize its value. The Business track could cover ideas such as what is Web 2.0, where are the real benefits, and practical examples of how it is being used effectively. Technical track subjects could include a review of Web 2.0 applications or frameworks, the technologies behind Web 2.0, and example implementations.
- Rich Media
With the majority of US households possessing high-speed internet connections, companies can now take advantage of more bandwidth intensive user interfaces. This topic will address how rich media can be dynamically delivered in create a more valuable and interactive user experience. Business track ideas could include a look at the real life costs associated with creating and maintaining rich media assets, policies for creation and publishing, or an analysis of the ROI for the use of rich media. Technical track ideas could include a look at the infrastructure issues related to rich media delivery in a high traffic site, a review of the technologies that enable dynamic rich media delivery, or a look at delivery services for rich media like Akamia.
- Content re-use in multiple delivery channels
The utopia of all CMS implementations; create once, use anywhere. Simplistic in theory, yet complex in reality. This topic will examine the real world issues surrounding content re-use and publishing, including in rich media. Business track ideas could include an look at the case for single source publishing, how to structure your data for re-use, or a look at the workflow implications with re-use. The Technical track could examine the technologies that support content re-use like DITA, software or frameworks for the delivery of content in multiple formats, or best practices for managing data bound for multiple formats.
Submitting a Proposal
CM Pros welcomes submissions at all levels; many of the conference attendees are experts in their fields, while some are new to content management. Submissions must meet all the requirements. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. All sessions must be submitted in the requested abstract format and must be original work of professional quality. Marketing/promotional presentations will not be considered.
Submissions must contain the following:
- Moderator name and complete contact information (email, phone, mailing address)
- Round table or workshop title
- Short Description, 100-word (suitable for marketing purposes)
- Long Abstract, 300-500 word (suitable for marketing purposes)
- List of keywords (10 words maximum)
- Estimate of technical knowledge required of attendees

All selected primary presenters will receive one free registration for the conference, provided their papers and/or handouts are received on or before May 27, 2008. CM Pros welcomes submissions from experts, and also from those new to content management.
